The Phillies acquired Cy Young Winner Roy Halladay from the Toronto Blue Jays for key minor league prospect Kyle Drabek (himself the son of a Cy Young winner, Doug Drabek) and two other heralded prospects today. The Phils signed Halladay to a three extension which will keep Halladay with the Phils through the 2013 season.
Halladay is a sinker ball pitcher who logs around 200 innings a season, throws many complete games and has excellent WHIP and strikeout to walk ratios. He should do well in the NL and in Citizens Bank Park.
